Eggnog is typically drunk in the winter.  There are many different recipes although the basic ingredients are milk, eggs, brandy or rum, and sugar.  Here is one recipes, with some variations shown beneath it.  I encourage you to experiment until you get the flavour, sweetness and richness you like.  Leaving out the alcohol makes a nice drink for children or tea totallers.

In a big bowl beat together:

6 eggs
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of brandy (or rum)
2 cups of milk
2 cups of cream

Pour into a pretty jug or bowl (glass is nice) and chill thoroughly.  Top with grated nutmeg and serve with little cups at a party.  This recipe makes enough for about eight servings.

Variations:

1.  Separate the eggs.  Beat the whites separately and fold them in at end (before chilling)
2.  Use milk and evaporated milk (if you don’t have any cream)
3.  Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract instead of the nutmeg
4.  Top with cinammon instead of nutmeg
5.  Use all milk and no cream
